“Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.” – Arthur C. Clarke

Our goal is to establish a multidisciplinary network of scholars to address the social and cultural aspects of religion and astrobiology. We are funded by a generous grant from the International Research Network for the Study of Science and Belief in Society which in turn is funded by the Templeton Religion Trust.
We are based in St Mary’s University, Twickenham, in the UK, and the Lanier Theology Library, Houston, Texas, in the USA, with institutional support from the University of Notre Dame, in Australia, and Rice University, in the USA.
